This beautiful big girl is an OTT Thoroughbred (years ago). She stands 16.2 hh and is in her early 20's. In great health and only requires senior feed in the winter season. She gets along well with others and is good for farrier, vet, loading, tying etc. She is seeking a forever home to retire and live out her years as a companion.
Her history as a racer was slow - winning about $11k so she retired sound from the track and went on to a successful career in eventing - where again she retired sound... had a few nice sporthorse foals and then again was retired from breeding.......don't you think this girls deserves a real retirement!?!
This adorably cute POA mare is seeking a forever home as a companion...won't you offer this sweet girl a spot in your pasture? She gets along well with everyone, is a very easy keeper, good with vet, farrier, loading, tying etc. She is in her late teens but in excellent health - did we mention an easy keeper? She is companion only due to an old knee injury - but it doesn't require any maintenance and she is very comfortable and pasture sound.
Rudy stands 13.2 hh and 15 yrs old. He has been a trail riding pony in his past but has had a little time off and is a tad rusty so needs a little tune up.
He is UTD, just had teeth floated and front shoes - healthy and ready to hit the road. Rudy could be a great youth pony with a little refresher. At this time he would do best with an intermediate rider (please no beginners inquire!). He doesn't have any known vices. This guy is very personal and friendly, likes attention and treats. He ties and loads, easy to catch. I think that with some consistancy and time back in the saddle he will be a great trail pony again! Also believe this cute gelding would be a good gaming pony.
While he is awaiting his new home we will continue to work with him on refreshment training.
Adoption Fee: $n/a - please make a donation to help cover his rescue costs
This gorgeous Quarter Horse mare is still seeking her forever home!
She is about 10 years and 15 hh. Very kind and sweet, excellent ground manners and no vices.
Bendi requires front shoes and a joint supplement due to Laminitis, she also has an old injury to her lower jaw that doesn't require any special care.
She is currently located in Florida at a foster home. If you would like to arrange a time to go meet Bendi please contact us.
If you are interested in offering her a forever home - she is companion only with no riding or breeding allowed.

Brandi
This sweet girl is very smart as well! She is a 15 hh, 5 y/o Quarter Horse mare.
Brandi had a rough beginning with untrustworthy people but she is still trying to see the good in people.
She is pasture friendly, leads well, respectful on the ground, loads (with a little patience) etc. She likes attention and to be groomed. Her worst fear is in knowing that the farrier brings death (or so she believes) and will require lots of patience and learning to overcome this fear.
Brandi is a very nice mover and has potential as a trail horse! She is well built and very pretty.
We can arrange to include 30 days of professional natural horsemanship training with Jim Frazier in her adoption for a fee. Please meet the following requirements before sending in an application to adopt Brandi.
You must be over 18 to inquire
You must have experience with green horses or horses with trust issues
You must have some knowledge of natural horsemanship techniques or be willing to learn as this is the method she will require to be handled/trained.
Adoption Fee: $n/a - please make a donation to help cover her rescue costs
AUGUST 2010 UPDATE Her 2nd visit to DCLAH for the monthly farrier's meeting was great! Dr. Meeker said she is sound and ready to be adopted as a potential riding/trail horse! They were all impressed with her progress - both with her hooves and her learning...walked into the center aisle clinic without hesitation and let many of them handle her feet without issues like before - Brandi is beginning to trust that many people are kind and worthy of her trust! So, if you are seeking a great little girl with a special soul please consider adoptiong Brandi! Take a look at the pictures below to see the difference in her feet in just 4 weeks!
JULY 2010 UPDATE Brandi was taken to DCLAH for the monthly farrier's meeting.
She received x-rays and special shoes on her front feet to help correct her hoof issues.
Dr. Meeker & Farrier's agreed that she is fixable to a sound condition and will have riding future potential!
She is already going quite sound and will be going back to their meeting in August for re-check/re-set.
More updates to follow ~ Pic is the day after her first set of corrective work.

She has very little training and is still "green" and has limited under saddle and ground work. She needs consistancy and to be "re-started". She is not available for breeding. Karma is available for adoption after a 1 year satisfactory lease. Before applying for her adoption please meet the following requirements.
